2021 SPECIALTY WRAP UP

A BIG YEAR FOR WALKING BASKETBALL & WHEELCHAIR SKILLS

Despite the interruptions of Covid-19 in 2021, our specialty programs have a lot to celebrate after strong growth and development in our Walking Basketball & Wheelchair Skills.

WALKING BASKETBALL

Hills Basketball launched our Walking Basketball program in Term 4 of 2019, to provide playing options for all abilities and ages. Recently, our Walking Basketball program has spread across two courts, with 30 participants developing their skills within the program. What we love most about Walking Basketball is the sense of community with all participants staying in the Foyer or morning tea after each session. WHEELCHAIR SKILLS

Our Hornets Academy Wheelchair Skills program has experienced significant growth since its inception in Term 1 of 2020. The program has helped introduced the game of wheelchair basketball to multiple participants, creating our next generation of Blue Hornets. The program now has 15 registered participants, who have all made significant improvements under the guidance of our Hornets Academy and Blue Hornet coaches. The Hills Basketball Association is also running a Wheelchair 3X3 Competition on Friday 21st January for all interested participants.
