COMPETITION MANAGER | Part-time position

Hills Basketball Association (HBA) is the largest basketball association in NSW, delivering competitions for over 850 teams and 7,500 players each season across multiple venues. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Competitions Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and growth of our competitions and participation programs.
 
The Role
Reporting to the Community Operations Manager, the Competitions Manager will oversee all aspects of competition operations, including:
  • Domestic competitions, Stingers Club, 3×3 tournaments, and Club Challenge events.
  • Leadership of the Competitions Administrator, Supervisors, and competition staff.
  • Strategic planning, program growth, and delivery of the annual competitions calendar.
  • Financial management, including budgets, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Media and communications, ensuring competitions are promoted effectively and consistently.
  • Member engagement, customer service, and compliance with HBA policies and child safety standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong administration, planning, and people management skills.
 
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
  • Demonstrated experience in competition or event management at scale.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage staff and volunteers.
  • Financial literacy (budgets, reporting, invoicing).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Confidence with digital competition systems.
  • A passion for basketball and community sport.
