WARATAH MEN HEAD COACH | 2027
 
A chance to lead one of the state’s most established and competitive Waratah programs.
Hills Hornets are seeking an ambitious and experienced coach, or an emerging coach ready to take the next step, to lead our Waratah Men program in 2027.
This is a genuine opportunity to become an important part of the Hills Hornets senior pathway and take the reins of a program with a proud history of success. The Waratah Men program has enjoyed multiple State Championship successes over the years and has played a key role in developing and providing opportunities for players within the broader Hornets pathway.
The Waratah program sits at an important point in that pathway, providing a platform for players graduating from Youth League, as well as those transitioning from NBL1, to continue representing the Hornets at a high level of state competition.
The standard of the Waratah League continues to rise, with the competition becoming increasingly strong and professional in recent seasons. With more programs recruiting experienced and import calibre players, the opportunity to compete and succeed at this level has never been more exciting.

  • Develop, recruit, and retain players at the required level to be successful in the Waratah League. 
  • Prepare and implement high-level training programs focused on team and player development. 
  • Scout opposition teams and devise effective game plans to compete at a high level.  
  • Coach all team practices and games. 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with other Senior and Junior Representative Coaches and Players. 
  • Support coordination of off-court initiatives as directed by HBA. 
  • Attend professional development opportunities, meetings, and functions organized by HBA. 
  • Adhere to the Basketball NSW and HBA Codes of Conduct and related policies, acting as a positive role model.  
  • Provide reports as required to the HBA High Performance Manager and Representative Manager.  

 

  • Relevant coaching experience. 
  • Current coaching accreditation. 
  • Working with Children Check. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., sports coaching, sports management, education) are desirable.
