HILLS HORNETS PINK ROUND

SUPPORTING BREAST CANCER NETWORK AUSTRALIA

From Monday 8 – Sunday 14 May, we hosted our Annual Pink Sports Round in support of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).

The goal of the week was not only to raise awareness, with players, coaches and spectators all encouraged to wear their pink, but also raise money for the cause. Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian women, with one in seven diagnosed in their lifetime. Over 20,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year as well as over 170 men.

As a community, we managed to raise over $1500 through the sale of our pink socks and direct donation. NBL1 East as a whole managed to raise just under $3000, with the Hills Basketball community contributing more than any other association. Thank you to all who donated or supported the cause. This allows BCNA to help these women, men and families to not go through their journey alone. You are still able to donate at any time and keep the support going.
