HORNETS TAKING NEXT STEP

Our Hills Hornets are taking the next step on their basketball pathway, with some exciting developments for our athletes. Congratulations to Yuvi, Andrei and Eoin who have all pursued exciting opportunities to further their basketball development.

YUVI BIMWAL |MONTVERDE ACADEMY IN FLORIDA

Congratulations to Hills Hornets athlete Yuvi Bimwal, who has been selected to play high school basketball at Montverde Academy in Florida.

This is an incredible achievement, and an exciting stepping stone for Yuvi’s basketball career. You might recognise the school name Montverde Academy, because that is the same high school that Ben Simmons attended, as well as many other notable NBA players.

Yuvi has already had incredible sporting success playing for the Hills Hornets, winning multiple state championships and a notable national championship in 2019.

The entire Hills Hornets community would like to wish Yuvi good luck as he embarks on this exciting journey.

ANDREI HONRADA | NATE MYER FULL HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP AT ST JOHN NORTHWESTERN ACADEMY

Hills would like to wish Andrei Honrada all the best on his basketball journey where he has been awarded a Nate Meyer Full High School Scholarship at St John Northwestern Academy in the USA. Andrei is a proud Hornet playing representative basketball for 7 years winning 2 x Metro Junior League Championships, MVP of Grand Final, 2 x NSW State Championships, Gold Medallist at the U14 Australian Nationals.
“I was shocked and at the same time excited to find out that I was going to play in America and I was hyped to move to the US because this is such a great opportunity for me to pursue my dream. But as the date moved closer, I started to realise, I am going to miss Australia, I’m going to miss my family, friends, coaches, my teammates and the whole Hills Hornets family. I would like to say thank you to my family, friends and the Hills Hornets Basketball association for developing me into the player I am today. Without all of this support, I wouldn’t of been able to pursue this opportunity” said Andrei.

The Hornets family are very proud of Andrei and will be watching from afar. Go get your dream.

The Hornets family said goodbye and goodluck to one of our Hills Hornets athletes Eoin Fitzgerald, who has arrived safely in Dublin to play for UCD Marian an Irish basketball team that competes in the Super League.
