HORNETS NBL1 EAST PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our Hills Hornets are now apart of the NBL1 East competition and with that comes the announcement of our players.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | PATRICK TYRELL
Hills Basketball are excited to announce Patrick Tyrell will be returning as the latest member of our NBL1 East squad.
Improving each year, Patrick is an asset on the boards and around the rim. We look forward to seeing him continue to grow in the 2022 season.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | JACK GIDDENS
After an outstanding performance in the Youth League Men last year, Hills Hornets are pleased to announce that Jack Giddens will be joining the NBL1 East Men for the 2022 season.
Giddens has progressed from our Junior program to Seniors with confidence and is sure to be another meaningful addition to the Men’s roster.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | Paris Roditis
Paris Roditis has been a part of the Hills Basketball Association since she was in a pram watching her sisters play.
After a successful junior basketball career, Paris made her way into the senior program, where she has been a part of two Banner winning teams.
We are excited to announce Paris Roditis again be suiting up for the Hills Hornets in 2022, playing in our inaugural NBL1 East team.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | Ben Kearins
Hills Basketball are thrilled to announce Ben Kearins as the latest Hornet to join our NBL1 East Men’s roster.
With NBL experience having played for the Sydney Kings, Ben’s strength as a guard is without question.
We welcome him to the Hive and are sure he’ll make a significant impact on and off the court this season.

Coming back from a knee injury, Hills Hornets are excited to welcome back Anja Kolodziej as she returns for our debut 2022 NBL1 East season.
With Anja in the lineup, the Hills Hornets team is bound to be tough and know how to work hard.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | Lachlan Charlton
Following an incredible 2021 Waratah season, averaging 13.8 points a game and 4.8 rebounds, Lachlan Charlton joins the Hills Hornets for the debut NBL1 East season.
After great success as a state representative throughout juniors, Lachlan is bound to be a valuable addition to the team.

Hills Basketball are excited to announce the commitment of Taryn Mahoney to the 2022 NBL1 East season.
After the pandemic brought her back from playing in the American college system, Taryn brings versatility to both ends of the court and is bound to make an impact in her debut season for the Hornets.

Hills Hornets are excited to welcome Josh Kalwy to our NBL1 East roster for the 2022 season.
Josh has represented the State and was named the MVP of the 2019 Youth League Men Grand Final.
Playing a power-forward, Josh will no doubt be a valuable addition to the Hills Hornets roster.

As we enter NBL1 East, Hills Basketball are excited to see what Rachael Lavaki can achieve in the 2022 season.
Rachael returns this year after injury, however will not let this impact her achievements. As a consistent and strong player, Rachael will be a meaningful addition to the team.

Kelsey Curtin is ready to make her mark on NBL1 East. Even with a shortened 2021 season, Kelsey averaged 13.2 points per game in Waratah Youth League Women.
Kelsey is a true hustler and is ready to take on the NBL1 competition.

Marvin Fidel is a Hills Basketball junior who returns for the 2022 NBL1 East season after great success in his previous Waratah leagues.
Marvin is a quick guard and our 2019 Defensive Player of the Year.
Marvin is the full package and we are excited to see what he brings to the game this season.

As we enter NBL1 East, Hills Basketball are excited about what Rhiannon Yetsenga can achieve in the 2022 season.
Rhiannon joined the Hills community in 2020, yet the disruptions of Covid-19 did not impact her achievements.
During the shortened season, Rhiannon averaged 11.88 points per game with 13.25 rebounds.
She ranked #1 in rebounds for the season, in addition to her top 5 ranking in blocks.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | JAYDEN PRAKASH
Home grown hero Jayden Prakash to return for our NBL1 debut.
Jayden joined the Hills community at just 10 years old and is now a household name at 23.
After spending time focusing on his 3×3 career, Jayden is now ranked 17th in the country.
He took time away from 3×3 international tournaments to represent Hills in our 2021 season, where he averaged 11.73 points per game with 4 rebounds.
Jayden is the ultimate team player and we are excited to see what he can do in the 2022 season.
NBL1 PLAYER SIGNING | PAUL BROTHERSON
Hills Hornets are thrilled to announce the return of club legend, Paul Brotherson, as he joins the Mens 2022 NBL1 East roster.
A Hills junior, our ‘Pauly’ went on to play college at MSU Denver and professionally in Germany.
Before suffering an injury in 2020, Pauly was averaging an incredible 16 points and 8 rebounds a game with a FG% of over 50%.
We look forward to seeing Pauly back dominating the paint and leading our Men in what is sure to be a great season.
NBL1 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT | ZOE BURKE
Joining the Women’s 2022 NBL1 East roster for the Hills Hornets is none other, than veteran Zoe Burke.
With a wealth of basketball knowledge and leadership experience, Zoe has been an integral member of the Hornets Women’s program, helping the Youth Women win the Championship banner in 2014.
After two consecutive seasons being interrupted by injury and COVID-19, we are sure Zoe will hit the court running in 2022 which is sure to be a great season for the Women.

Hills Basketball are thrilled to announce the commitment of David Hayman to the 2022 NBL1 East season.
Dave has been playing at the club his entire life, as an elite player and successful coach, with this season being his 10th in senior basketball.

After playing in the US since 2019, Erica Pitman returns to Australia to play in the 2022 NBL1 East season for Hills Hornets.
Despite the pandemic bringing her home early for the 2021 season, Erica was the #3 point scorer in Waratah Youth League women.
Erica is a dynamic and explosive attacking point guard, who is ready to score big for Hills Hornets in 2022.

With another addition to our inaugural roster, Hills Basketball are proud to include Joe Patmore.
As a Hills junior player since 2013, Joe excelled in his first Waratah Men’s season in 2021.
With an average of 23 minutes a game, Joe returned 6 points and 5.73 rebounds a game.

Hills Basketball is excited to announce that Taylah Cottees has committed to our NBL1 East debut.
Taylah is an incredibly talented athlete that you wouldn’t want to come up against in a fast break. As the leader in blocks in the 2021 season, Taylah is known for her insane athleticism and speed.
After joining the Hills community in 2018, she quickly skyrocketed to success. We cannot wait to see what 2022 brings for Taylah.
NBL1 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT | CASSIE PENTNEY
Hills Basketball are excited to announce the return of Cassie Pentney, this time to NBL1. Since starting with Hills in 2018, Cassie has been a valuable asset to the community and the court.
Cassie was not only our Female Player of the Year in 2019 but has continued to achieve throughout her time, ranking in the top 5 in free throws in the 2021 season.
Welcome back Cassie, we are excited to see what the 2022 season holds.
NBL1 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT | LIAM MOSS
Liam Moss is ready to make his mark on NBL1 East.
After making his debut with Hills in 2018 and overcoming a knee injury, Moss has gone on to earn Male Player of the Year in 2019 and become a fan favourite within the Hills community.
In his 2021 season, Moss averaged 31 minutes each game returning an average of 21.22 points per game at 50% from the field and 7.22 rebounds.
This ranked him in the top 5 in 2 point percentage and steals for the Waratah League season.
