HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER | Full-time position
The High Performance Manager will be instrumental in optimising the developmental pathway for athletes and coaches within our organisation, spearheading the design and management of comprehensive programs dedicated to fostering the growth of both players and coaches. Collaborating closely with players, coaches, and support staff, your focus will be on optimising the physical, mental, and technical dimensions of performance for elite players and coaches within the Hornets Representative Program (Junior and Senior programs). Your approach will integrate key fundamental basketball skills with cutting-edge sports science, ensuring a holistic framework for skill development. This will prepare both players and coaches for success not only at State level but also for progression to higher tiers of competition. Your strategic leadership will be essential in creating an environment that nurtures talent, instills elite level fundamental skills, and positions individuals for success at increasingly competitive levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and plan style of play and development progression for Hornets Representative program.
- Design and implement a comprehensive player development program for the Hornets High Performance Centre (opening in 2025).
- Develop a comprehensive, long-term player development program tailored for progression into NBL1 and Youth League.
- Organise and lead key coaching education initiatives, including seminars, workshops and annual conferences.
- In conjunction with Representative Advisory Panel appoint, educate, mentor and monitor all Representative Coaches.
- In conjunction with Representative Coaches and RAP monitor and assess all elite players, providing support and pathway.
- Work with other Departments to ensure style of play and player/coach pathway is seamless from grassroots to elite level.
Qualifications:
- Experience delivering a high performance program at a large association level or higher for a minimum of 3 years.
- High level experience with development, implementation and delivery of player and coach development programs.
- Proven ability in strategy development and execution.
- Sound understanding of modern technical innovations in player and coach development.
- Accredited Club Coach Presenter
- Accredited Association Level Coach
