As of today, Monday. 16 March, 2020, the Hills Basketball Association is suspending all Local Competitions (Summer 19/20), Hornets Academy Skills Sessions, Play and Train, Walking Basketball and Little Hoopers until further notice. This decision has been taken after considering advice from both the Federal and NSW Governments and the positions of both our parent bodies, Basketball Australia and Basketball NSW. Read the BA statement here and the Basketball NSW statement here

As we trust you will appreciate, this is a fluid and dynamic situation and while we will not have all the answers immediately, we have developed a list of FAQs. Click here to view. Additional questions can be emailed to and answers will be added to the page.

Anyone attending any HBA venue should follow the following advice:

“Patrons should continue to follow the advice below with particular attention to hand hygiene and good cough etiquette. Anyone who is feeling unwell should not attend HBA venues and those in high risk categories should consider staying at home.

If you are an attendee, NSW Health encourages you to:

  • stay home and not attend if you are feeling unwell
  • stay home and not attend if you have been to a country considered at higher risk of COVID-19 (excluding airport transit) in the past 14 days
  • practice simple hygiene by making sure to clean your hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub and by covering your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or a flexed elbow.”

Rest assured, this decision, and any taken going forward, will firstly consider the health and safety of the Hills Basketball community and that of the wider general public. We will provide updates after appropriate consultation with Government and other relevant bodies.
